I analyzed the most comfortable living environments for sick children and accompanying families in the hospital by using nursing student's reports on the decoration of the pediatric ward. The students reported the most comfortable living environments for the sick children and their family through their reactions to a ward decoration. I selected the words related with environment and categorized them for sick children and their family. Seven conditions were better for sick children as follows; 1) comfortable like their home; 2) atmosphere with 4 seasons; 3) greater stimulation; 4) according to their growth and development ; 5) refreshing environment ; 6) suitable for their activities ; 7) able to communicate with healthy children. For accompanying families. the following 7 conditions were better; 1) relaxed atmosphere; 2) comfortable like their home; 3) refreshing environment; 4) atmosphere with 4 seasons; 5) able to play with their families; 6) according to their children's growth and development; 7) able to communicate with accompanying family. I confirmed these 14 conditions were useful and effective for hospital environments.
