Single crystals of Fe₂TiO₅ were grown by the floating zone(FZ)method using an infrared heating furnace. The rods of growll single crystals were up to 8 mmφ×45 mm in size, dark brown in color, and had a metallic luster. The facets were observed on the surfaces of necked crystal rods. Also, the single crystals growrl by the seeding procedure had facets. The necking and seeding procedures were effective to grow Fe₂TiO₅ single crystals of high quality by the FZ method.
