Transformation formulae for the elastic stiffness and compliance constants in any oblique cuts of single crystals

The general transformation equations for the components of stress and strain from an axial system (o-x', y', z') to the original system (o-x, y, z), are considered first. Especially the transformation method for the stress tensor is a new idea. By using the results mentioned above and then applying them to the generalized Hooke's Law, the general transformation formulae of the elastic stiffness constants [cij] and compliance constants [sij] are answered with direction cosines li, mi, ni (i=1, 2, 3). In conclusion, these formulae are applicable to the transformations of [cij] or [sij] for any oblique cuts of single crystals.
