Parametric Excitation using a Current of Amplitude Modulation and Frequency Modulation
丹野, 頼元
When a nonlinear inductance is excited by a current of a certain frequency, a subharmonic of half the frequency of the current oscillates a tank circuit comprising the ronlinear inductance and a capacitance. If the exciting current is modulated by an amplitude or by a frequency with a signal current, the result is following: (1) When the inductance is excited by an amplitude modulated current, a subharmonic of a signal frequency can be obtained with detecting the oscillated voltage. (2) In this case, synchronization of the oscillator at a subharmonic of an input signal is very stable if the signal frequency changes widely. (3) If the inductance is excited by the frequency modulated current, the output is converted into an amplitude modulation, and can be easily detected in the usual manner. That is, the frequency modulation is converted into an amplitude modulation. (4) In this case, the signal frequency is not divided. And a linearity is very good. In this paper, these principle and experimental results are discussed.
