We found remarkable improvement of motility of dielectric polymeric materials as artificial muscles, when carbon nanomaterial was employed as soft electrodes (reported by Islam, PD research stuff in our group). However the electrode does not have enough durability for practical use. In this research, we developed a highly elastic, endurable up to ca.800% elongation, electrode material, using ABA-type block copolymer. We also developed novel electrode deposition method, which we named “dipping-method. Employing this method, we could deposit 20 micrometer electrode layer on a PET film, and attained high motility of the PET film by applying an electric field. We also investigated on the electro-spinning of VGCF and obtained a fiber, the diameter of which is around 1 micrometer or less and has an electrical conductivity. This material in a form of nonwoven fabric is also a candidate of novel electroactive polymer.
