ソヴィエトにおける英語学:イリーシの≪英語史≫
岡部, 匠一
This is nothing but a second series of the tentative assimilations to the English studies in USSR ; since the introduction of Jespersen's descriptive approach in English syntax by Prof. Ichikawa, most of the English studies comtemporaneous with those precursors who applied themselves to their assimilations have deen fruitfully taken into the body corporate of English studies in our country. The vistas which have been with no good reason left unexplored and awaits for our researches are those studies on English which certainly have been and are being carried out in Italy, Spain and USSR. As it is, the aim of the present writer is to cast a precarious plumb into the vast expanse and depth of unfathomed contributions of English studies, and bring them to our scholarly public in general. This paper, concerned with Prof. Ilysh's `History of the English language', is deliberately taken up with a view to introducing the latest work on the subject to the students and researchers in universities, colleges and schloarly institutions of this country whose specialities and interests point to this field.
