The improved lattice kinetic scheme is an extended version of the lattice Boltzmann method and is more accurate and stable than the single relaxation time-lattice Boltzmann method. In this study, we combine the improved lattice kinetic scheme with the multi direct forcing method, which enforces the no-slip boundary condition accurately by determining the body force iteratively. In addition, the present method includes a collision technique in which a repulsive force occurs when the gap between a particle and a wall is lower than a given threshold. By using the present method, we simulate fluid flows with a circular cylinder in a two-dimensional T-shaped pipe and investigate the effects of the initial position of the cylinder, the pressure difference between two outlets, and the ratio of the diameter of the cylinder to the width of the pipe.
