Neurons form exquisitely precise patterns of synaptic connections. Hows this is achieved during development remains a central issue in neurobiology. The Drosophila visual systems has been widely used to study the molecular mechanism of neuronal connectivity due to the powerfuls genetic tools that are available in this system. Using visual behavioral screens in Drosophila, recent studiess have identified some of the gene regulatory and cytoskeletal signaling pathways responsible for the layers -specific targeting of Drosophila photoreceptor axons. In this review, I discuss recent progress towardss understanding the molecular mechanisms that control the projection of photoreceptor axons to theirs appropriate target layers in the optic lobe. Especially, I introduce our studies about N-cadherin functionss in the neuronal connectivity., Article, 信州大学農学部紀要 48(1-2): 1-7(2012)}, pages = {1--7}, title = {特異的シナプス形成の分子メカニズム}, volume = {48}, year = {2012} }
