More than sixty kinds of tropical fruits were found in markets. Some of these fruits were collected from wild trees. The fruits most frequently found were Nephelium mutabile and Lansium domesticum. Forty-eight vegetables, mainly Chinese ones, were observed in markets. Most vegetables were the same species as ours and they were produced in home gardens in the suburbs of Bintulu. Some wild species such as Artemisia vulgaris and Centella asiatica were sold in markets as leaf vegetable.
