This paper describes the amount of water drunk by horses under housing for seven successive days. The experiments were made on a stallion and a gelding. The horses were given feeds 3 times a day, at 6 : 00, 11 : 00 and 16 : 00. Water was available ad libitum from a water bowl. The horses were performed a preliminary examination and a regular one, both for seven days periods. The temperatures in the stable of during this observation averaged 16.4℃ (Table 1). The stallion and gelding drank water 14 l and 13 l per day, respectively (Table 2 and 3). The water excepted drinking water, or in feeds and for making paste baits, added up to about 3.8.E per day. These results have showed that the the water amount drunk by the Kiso whose weight was about 400kg was under 20 l per day (Table 4)., Article, 信州大学農学部紀要 23(1): 37-42(1986)},
