Calcium phosphate monobasic was fertilized to Higashiiwanaga redish soil, Aso volcanic-ash soil and Shuhodo white soil treated with sodium, ammonium, iron, aluminium, calcium or magnecium humates and nitrohumates, then moistened prior to drying. Unfixed phosphorus in such soil samples were fractionated in three forms that they were soluble, Truog soluble and 0.2N HCl soluble forms, and each of them was determined. Most of humates and nitrohumates increased remaining of unfixed phosphorus in all soils; water soluble, Truog soluble and 0.2N HCl soluble phosphorus were increased in Aso, water soluble in Higashiiwanaga and Truog soluble in Shuhodo. But remaining ratio of each soluble forms in treated soil was not same to control soil, and the features or capacities of repression by humates and nitrohumates on phosphorus fixation were varied with the kind of humates or nitrohumates, the soils and the difference in humic anions (humic or nitrohumic salt).
