We tried to investigate the fluctuations of cone index with groundwater lowering in the paddy field foundation. On the other hand, we examined the unconfined compression strength of the undisturbed sample. We discussed with th method to decide the space and depth of drainage canal from the results of these experiment. Cone penetrometer used in this experiment are W. E. S. standard type of a 30° cone with an maximum area of 6.45 cm2 cross section. The results of our investigation of bearing capacity in paddy field foundation are as follows, 1. Cone index are proportional to unconfined compression strength for the paddy field foundation with organic soil. 2. Allowable soil pressure (qa) can be caluculated with the application of the relation between cone index (qc) and unconfined compression strength (qu) to TERZAGHI's formula. The experimental results which were obtained in the way described above are as follows, qc=5.36 qu(kg/cm2) qa=0.15 qc (kg/cm2) 3. The measured values of groundwater table agree approximately with analytical results of DUPUIT-FORCHEIMER'S theory. 4. The space and depth of drainage canal can be caluculated with the application of this theory., Article, 信州大学農学部紀要 6(1): 21-30(1969)}, pages = {21--30}, title = {水田の地盤支持力に関する研究 I 地下水位の変動が地盤支持力におよぼす影響}, volume = {6}, year = {1969} }
