The labor of cultivation per unit area in the determinate tomato varieties was about one third of that in the indeterminate tomato varieties under the same conditions. A modified method of nursery management for the determinate tomato varieties was tested and the fruitful results were obtained. In this method, the labor of nursery management was reduced to about one sixth in comparison with that in the indeterminate tomato varieties. The saving of labor was examined by using of machinery into each process of cultivation in the determinate varieties. In 1968, all processes of cultivation except the nursery management and the harvest were mechanized, and the labor of cultivation per 10a was reduced to about 120 hours. From the results obtained here, the optimum scale of mechanized culture for the determinate tomato varieties was discussed from the economical point of view., Article, 信州大学農学部紀要 6(2): 83-100(1969)}, pages = {83--100}, title = {加工用無支柱トマト栽培の省力化に関する研究}, volume = {6}, year = {1969} }
