 note = {東信地方での信州カラマツ材流通の実態ならびに信州カラマツ材の需要構造にツいての解明を試みた。これらの結果を要約すると次のようである。1)信州カラマツ材はその材質的特質によツて杭丸太用材・足場丸太用材ならびに足場板・バタ角材用の土木工事用製材品に多く用いられている。2)信州カラマツ材が建築用に用いられているのは長野県内に限られているようであり、それも土台用材などの構造材に用いられているだけであるが、最近はその需要量が増大している。3)東信地方での信州カラマツ材の流通において主要な役割りを占めているのは地元の製材業者と東京の問屋であり、以前とは異なつて、東京の問屋が流通の全面を掌握するわけにはいかなくなつている。4)東信地方の製材業者も信州カラマツ材流通の全過程に進出しているものもでてきたが、全面的に流通の過程を把握するには至つていない。5)信州カラマツ材流通機構の不完全さのためもあつて、土木工事用材部門に多くの代替財の進出を許し、需要の伸びがいちじるしく制約されている。, The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the distribution of larch timber from stump to consumer and the demand for larch timber. This study was made for a limited area as eastern district of Nagano prefecture, in which larch timber has been produced in a large scale. To collect the data for the actual conditions of the distribution of larch timber, we have prefered the inquiry by questionnaire (enquete) for the primary concentraters of larch log timber, which have dealt with the first stage in distribution of larch timber, such as logging agencies, timber dealers, lumber manufactures (sawmills) and forest owner's associations. The items in the questionnaire are listed in the following: 1) Volumes of larch log timber purchased or handled in 1955, 1960, 1965 and 1966. 2) Kinds of larch log timber owners or dealers from whom purchases were made, together with the volumes received. 3) Kinds and volumes of larch timber sold in 1955, 1960, 1965 and 1966. 4) Kinds of vendees to whom sales were made, with the volumes sold for each use. The distribution of larch timber in eastern district of Nagano prefecture and the demand for larch timber may be summarily illustrated as follows: 1) Larch timber is mainly used for lumber cut (62.3±17.3%) log piles (31.7±16.7%), scaffolding poles (2.1±5.2%) and round mine timbers (1.9±4.9%). The lumber cut of larch is used in the following different ways; planing sawmill products for house building materials (41.1±11.1%), rough lumber and structural timbers for residential construction or civil engeneering (38.0±10.9%), pulp chips (7.8±6.0%) and boxes and crating (6.8±5.7%). 2) Larch timber for log piles, scaffolding poles, round mine timbers, rough lumber and structural timbers are mainly sending to Tokyo or its neighbourhoods. 3) Larch lumber is used for the building materials only in Nagano prefecture. And even in this region, larch lumber is used only in the structural frame partsin house construction. The demand for new housing in this region is increasing along with the growth of the major determinants such as growth in number of families, family income, vacancy ratios and so on. Therefore, the demand for larch lumber as building materials is increasing with the increase of new residential constructions. 4) Lumber manufactures in eastern district of Nagano prefecture and whole-salers in Tokyo play a significant role in the distribution of larch timber. 5) Generally, forest products are old, established commodities which consumers have long been accustomed to using. New products designed to replace particular larch timber...... e. g. concrete-piles, steel scaffolding poles and scaffolding plywoods...... have influenced the demand for these larch timber through competition with them. Furthermore, trade-promotion activities by makers of these new products have restricted the increase of demand for larch timber., Article, 信州大学農学部紀要 5(2): 85-106(1968)},
