The farmers living in this district must gain some income in addition to that from agriculture, so the forest land is contributed to the economy of the farmers as a source of some income. At present, the farmers who gain income from the sale of forest products are less in number than the farmers who get wage income from forest labour. The main cause of this state is that the management scale of forest is, in general, small, and other causes are the poor stock and the inadequate construction of their stands. But these forests have the potentiality for producing more and better timber. Therefore, it is expected to establish the family forestry under certain circumstances. Taking consideration of the above mentioned, we tried to point out various types of the family forestry by means of the activity analysis. In the first part of this treatise, we explained the general situations of natural and economical conditions, and economic outlooks of the foresters (I The general situations of Daimon district). In the second part, we explained the fundamental plan of the activity analysis (II The fundamental plan of the activity analysis), and computed the coefficients of each real process from the data which had been gathered at Daimon in July and August 1963 (III The determination of the coefficients of the real process and the income of the family forestry in future by means of the activity analysis (IV The computation of the simplex tableau). In the last part, we tried to point out the various types of the family forestry in Daimon district (V The various types of the family forestry). These types may be summarily illustrated as follows: 1 The family forestry which specializes in forest management management scale; forest land 20 ha —32 ha, cultivated land 85 a process in forestry; larch normal forest on a 30-year or 35-year rotation process in agriculture; extensive vegetable culture expected income; 1,700, 000 Yen — 2,300,000 Yen.2 The family forestry which carries out as a compound management combining forest management with agriculture management A-type management scale; forest land 13 ha-20 ha, cultivated land 85 a process in forestry; larch normal forest on a 30-year rotation process in agriculture; dairy-farming, culture of plateau-grown vegetable expected income; 1,300,000 Yen-1,700,000 Yen. 3 The family forestry which carries out as a compound management combining forest management with agriculture management B-type management scale; forest land 10 ha-13 ha, cultivated land 80 a process in forestry; larch normal forest on a 30-year rotation process in agriculture; dairy-farming, rice culture expected income; 1,000,000 Yen-1,300,000 Yen., Article, 信州大学農学部紀要 3(3): 293-315(1964)}, pages = {293--315}, title = {線型分析による家族経営林家の類型化について}, volume = {3}, year = {1964} }
