(1) In the cooler region of high elevation we have not rain in winter and have snow, so heavy snow lies inside the area. In snowmelt-season, in spring, it runs off with rain or high-temperature and we have sometimes snowmelt-flood. (2) Generally we have more heavy rain in higher elevation, and in Nagano prefecture we have some areas where it rains more 5,000mm in a year. (3) Temperature influences runoff about 0℃, especially when surface of area freezes and runoff stops, base-flow becomes extremely lower. (4) Generally evaporation in the cooler region of high elevation is smaller. (5) From equation P=D+E+G+M P=precipitation D =discharge E=evaporation G=recharge of ground water through infiltration M=change of moisture we can cmpute monthly change of moisture, monthly moisture, daily change of moisture, and daily moisture. (6) We can compute that it is heavy rain in the foot of Mt. Komagatake, especially in 1956 it is 5406.3mm precipitation. We can compute that it is heavy snow in March 1956, so retention in area greatly increases. (7) Ground water level in the cooler region of high elevation, generally, is influenced by rain in warm and wet season, example June, and is not influenced by rain in winter so is lower., Article, 信州大學農學部紀要 (8): 25-58(1958)}, pages = {25--58}, title = {高冷地における水の流出機構}, year = {1958} }
