The outline of the standsinventory is as follows: forest age: 22 years old planting density: 3,100 trees per hectare existing density: 2,600 trees per hectare tree height: 6-16 meters mean height of all stands: 13.2 meters mean height of upper trees: 14.1 meters site index: 21 meters per 40 years diameter breast high (d.b.h): 4-22 centimeters mean d.b.h.: 12.6 centimeters ratio of clear length: lower side of stem: about 60% upper side of stem: avove 70% Classification of tree form estimated by TERAZAKI's method 〓 *Trees in these classes showed significant stem curve. ratio of tree height to d.b.h.: 105 relative index of yield: 0.90-0.92 relative ratio of stem dstance: 14-15 From the results outlined above, the following views can be pointed out as a management of the overcrowded Japanese larch forest. 1) Japanese larches usually show co-existing type growth.
