I investigated the vegetation of Senjojiki-cirque in Mt. Kisokoma to clarify the relations between communities and their habitat. There are many types of formations in this area such as alpine desert, windward grassland, dwarf-shrub heath, snow-bed grassland, alpine scrub, subalpine altherbosa, subalpine estatifruticeta and coniferous forest. These communities are found under the conditions of various site factors, especially cold, exposure to wind and snowcover. Firstly, the vegetation of this area were classified into 16 communities. The distribution of these communities were mapped at the scale of 1:5,000. Secondly, the site factors, i. e. thawing of snowcover and topographical type, were investigated. The thawing of snowcover were surveyed every 10 days in June and July. The topographical feature were classified into 11 types. Lastly, after these data, the habitat of each community were discussed. The main factors of the habitat of these communities were length of growing period, pressure and injury by snow, injury by windward, cold in winter, stability of soil and soil moisture. And the mosaic of vegetation of this area were thought to be made by the complex combinations of these factors., Article, 信州大学農学部演習林報告 16: 57-85(1979)}, pages = {57--85}, title = {木曽駒ケ岳千畳敷周辺の植生 : 植物郡落と生育環境について}, volume = {16}, year = {1979} }
