He researches the mechanism of a flow influenced by a parallel dike which is set up along the center line in a laboratorial channel. He proves, in the prevention from disasters, a parallel dike has an effective mechanism to fix a water course by making a sort of meandering flows and to decrease the scour at the base of a revetment. He also proves that this effectiveness will be best when any space of the parallel dikes is be filled; the form of separation levee is made up. Thus, when it is applied to a new method of river works of the widening of low water channel in the lower part of large rivers, the separation levee will be very useful for keeping a channel stable.
