In these discharges, if the experiment is carried out under sufficiently pure conditions, two or more transients are found in the voltage oscillogram, at certain values of the initial pressure and voltage, while breaks are seen in the current oscillogram at the corresponding moments. Some experimental works dealing with the discharges of this kind have been published. This paper presents results of an experimental study of the phenomena that occur when a powerful pulse discharges passes through gas with external magnetic field. The experimental conditions are, a) the condenser voltage ...... from 15 to 50 kv, b) maximum discharge current...... from 50 to 300 kA, c) rate of current rise at the beginning of the process...... from 2 × 10¹⁰ to 8 × 10¹⁰ A/sec, d) energy stored in the condenser bank...... from 29 to 32 kJ, e) longitudinal magnetic field ...... 600 Gauss. Discharges in air and deuterium were studied. According to \"singular point\" of the pulse discharge in the gas which presented by I. N. Leontovich, the general characteristics of the gas discharge was analized using flat and cylindrical electrodes. The effect of longitudinal magnetic field to the plasma column will be given in this paper. In order to determine neutron yield, method of activation was adopted.
