The use of piezoelectric resonator of barium titanate ceramics as filter, combined with magnetic amplifier for output, has been proposed, and it has been shown that by this means a small-sized and efficient remote control device can be constructed. This paper gives the principle of operation provided with the piezoelctric resonator using magnetic amplifier, and the application of the single side band system for remote control. When the piezoelectric resonator is operated by the amplitude modulation, the control current which provides the control winding of magnetic amplifier, dependence for percentage modulation, permits only about 20 per cent in the full range. Linear relation exists, however, between the control and output currents using the single side band system for the device. The remote control system using the magnetic amplifier with the piezoelectric resonator has the following advantages over other methods: (a) small size and reduced weight, (b) long life and vibration-proof, and (c) lower consumption of power. This remote control system has comparatively large response time of about 50 milli-seconds.
