The author regarded such a system as equivalent to an electrical multi-terminal network, some of the terminals of which being terminated by several additional circuit elements. The main elements of the vibrating system, such as plates, membranes, bars, strings, etc., car. be represented by the multi-terminal networks and the additional mechanically-vibrating elements, coupled to the main elements, such as masses, springs, etc., can be replaced by the additional circuit elements referred to previously.
