Local governments need a strategy and management method to survive. I made a research on the way to re-activate or strengthen a local community or region. There are 5 type of ways to re-activate a local community or region, such as inviting an industry or a company, privatizing a public business, collaboration between local community and college, tieup with tourism and community business. Local governments have to consider an optimized combination of these 5 ways like portfolio, reflecting the characteristics of each local community / region. At the same time, Branding strategy for local government is necessary to keep competitiveness since know-how or knowledge will spread soon and similar activities will be introduced in another community.
