Generally, these materials are cotton-like. Especially, the hybrid silica shows elasticity which is suitable for nano-engineering. The chiral mesopores and helical morphologies indicate that these materials are useful for application in the field of chiral selectivity, chiral recognition, chiral catalysts and optical materials. Sponge-like hybrid silica which was constructed by helical bundles was also obtained during last year.
