Organogelators generally have not only amphiphilic groups such as amides, ureas, carboxylic acids, and hydroxyls, but also hydrophilic segments such as long alky chains and aromatic rings; therefore, most organogelators we water-insoluble. One of the simplest strategies in order to form hydrogelators is the introduction of charge into organogelalors.
