Our previous researches elucidated the following two findings. A little amount of fibrous proteins are produced in labial glands. And its contents of larval stage are different from that of wandering stage. To clarify the transition mechanisms of contents in lumen, the influences of application of 20-hydroxyecdysone on the fibrous protein synthesis in larval labial glands were investigated. First, the synthesis of luminal protein in labial gland was examined. As a result, it is confirmed the luminal components reflect the newly synthesized proteins in labial glands. Next the influences of the application of 20-hydroxyecdysone on the synthesis of luminal proteins were studied. However, the effects of application were not observed on the protein synthesis and luminal contents in the labial glands.
