In this study, the methods that simulate mechanical phenomena with high fidelity are pursued so that the simulation is utilized to predict real world. This fiscal year the following topics were studied, 1) development of the simulation method based on the subordinate structure. 2) construction of the human body model for the simulation. We proposed a new model for clothing simulation in which a fabric was modeled as a structure of threads. An editor to define virtual threads and to weave them into a fabric was made. A program for the mechanical calculation was also made. The shape of a fabric was obtained as the minimum potential state, We compare the theoretical solution and the result of the simulation for verification of the validity of the program, and they agreed very Well. We developed a method to estimate inner structure of human body. A program to reconstruct a surface shape from the boundaries of many images of cross section was made, and a surface shape of human bosy was reconstructed with the program. It was adapted to another surface shape of human body which was measured with a 3-D shape measurement instrument. The inner part was deformed with the adaptation. The estimation was obtained as the deformation of the inner part.
