This study monitored, via the internet, the amount, type and weight of clothes worn in various regions of Japan over one year. A database was created with this data, and sorted according to typ and weight of clothes. As is to be expected, the quantity of clothes decreased as temperatures increased through summer, and increased towards the onset of winter. Thermoregulation by clothes was primarily concerned with the human bust, with a wide range of quantity and type . Clothes worn on the lower half of the body remained fairly constant throughout the year. The data shows that the relationship between temperature and clothes weight to be a loC drop in temperature resulted in a 51g increase in clothes weight for males, and a 46g increase for females .
