The authors found that most of the small-scale seed industries in Europe serve mainly for hobby farmers and/or organic/bio-dynamic farmers. This suggests seed industry in Europe may not be a feasible institution for conservation of traditional varieties attached to the localities like local vegetables in Japan, especially in Nagano. However, these seed industry is well accepted by the society and this may serve for utilization of wider varieties of crops thus contributing the conservation of agro-biodiversity in parallel with formal gene banks., Article, 環境科学年報30:67-71(2008)}, title = {近代農業における小規模種子産業の役割:農業における生物多様性保全から見たヨーロッパ事例の普遍性と特殊性}, year = {2008} }
