 note = {The making of organic wastes into the compost is the effective means toward ar ecycling utilization of unused organic resources. This experiment were conducted to determine suitable shapes，sizes and struc. tures of the simplified ripening tank，by which the compost of good quality can be producedin simple step at the corner on the field. The six kinds of tanks were chosen such as four cylindrical geogrid tanks with different diameter，ar ectangular prism geogrid tank and ac ylindrical tank coated with al ayer of heated insulator. The experimental results were as follows ; if the production scale was smaller，the progress of the rapid ripening became tardy，on the contrary，if it was larger，the ripening at middle part of the tank became inactive due to oxygen shortage. From the results，it was revealed that the geogrid cylindrical tank with 1.5-2.0 m in diameter and 1.0 m in height is one of the suitable and practical type in which smooth ripening goes on for a long time., Article, 環境科学年報12:55-64(1990)},
