(1) Till now the early part of an ancient history of Japanese Literature is the age of Emperor Suiko. (593-628 A.D.) And the materials of this decision are the prose writings in the age of Emperor Suiko. But these prose writings are practical ones, not poetical or aesthetic. Therefore it is not right to think that these prose writings are materials to point the early part of an ancient history of Japanese Literature. (2) I think that the standpoint of the eariy part of an ancient history of Japanese Literature must be researched in another way. The original form of "Kojiki" was formed in the Sixth century. But the present "Kojiki" was formed in the Eighth century. Between these two centuries was the time of Modification. The most important and the last modifications is the age of Emperor Tenmu. "Manyo-shiu", a Japanese anthology in the early days, was formed in the same age that the original form of "Kojiki" was formed. Finally I conclude that the age of Omi-Asuka is the flowering age of an ancient history of Japanese Literature., Article, 信州大學紀要 1(1): 37-55(1951)}, pages = {37--55}, title = {古代文学史に於ける近江飛鳥朝の意義}, volume = {1}, year = {1951} }
