 note = {A histological observation was made to gain a better understanding of the hygroscopic Curvature of buckwheat chaffs. The buckwheat pericarp consists of four layers; The outer-most layer (epicarp) are composed of elongated spiral-reticular cells which are ready to absorp water. These cells are arranged aslant and bilateral symmetrically to the axis of the chaff.
