 note = {Since an auxiliary "Ta" has much to do with the expression of time in Japanese, we must make clear the usage and meanings of "Ta" in order that we may know the temporal features in our language. "Ta" is generally described in Japanese grammar as an auxiliary expressing jJast or perfect. So it is quite necessary to compare the past and perfect with the past tense and the perfect tense in such a foreign language as English, and to find out the similarities and dissimilarities between them. In this paper, the author firstly tries to describe the conjunctive system of "Ta" and other words having conjugations.
