 note = {The purpose of this paper is to show the characteristics of Saigyô's love-poem. In the first chapter, I have considered Saigyô's love-poems in "Shinkokin-syu." They have very elegant style. At the same time, however, it cannot be denied that there are some characteristic styles different from the styles of other poets' love-poems. In the second chapter, I have dealt with love-poems in Saigyô's anthology "Sankasyu," According to my opinion, we find the most characteristic style of Saigyô's lovepoem in some works in this anthology. In the third chapter, I have mentioned some works in "Mimosusogawa-utaawase" and critics by Shunzei and Teika.
