The viscoelastic force is introduced by the Maxwell model which has a spring and a damper connected with each other in series. The deformation of a droplet in shear flows of a viscoelastic fluid is simulated using the proposed method with the twodimensional nine-velocity model. In the investigations, the effects of viscoelasticity on the deformation and orientation of the droplet are evaluated.
