人の関連性をそれぞれ推定するため、分子疫学的手法のひとつである結核菌縦列反復配列多型（VNTR）解析を実施した。その結果、両事例の患者はそれぞれ同一パターンを示したため、患者発生当時に実施した患者調査や接触者調査、接触者健診の結果と合わせて両事\n例を解析し、感染源や感染経路の推測を試みた。また、事例を解析することにより、接触者健診の実施時期や、VNTR
