"脳神経外科の手術後、血管内治療患者は安静制限による腰痛、経鼻的下垂体腫蕩摘出術患者は鼻閉感や呼吸苦、聴神経腫療摘出術愚者は嘔気・眩暈などの不快症状が出現することがある。それら不快症状が出現した際、緩和するための対処方法を看護師は指導している。しかし手術前、患者に不快症状や対処方法について情報提供するパンフレットがなく、また入院から手術までの期聞が短いため、患者はイメージを持つことが難しいと考えた。そとで不快症状と対処方法について記載したパンフレットとDVDを作成し、入院前に外来で配付するという取り組みを開始した。今回その取り組みが、不快症状をイメージでき、対処方法をとることに役立ったかを調査した。患者へのアンケート結果より、各治療において出現した不快症状をイメージでき、対処方法ができていたことがわかり、パンフレットに不快な症状と対処方法を記載したことは有効であった。更にパンフレットとDVDを併用することで視覚的、聴覚的に働きかけ、理解を促すことにつながった。一方、事前に知ることで手術に対する恐怖心を助長させてしまうといった患者からの意見もあり、入院後、不安に対する傾聴を行っていく必要がある。",
