Five cameras were set up within the survey area and a total of 485 days were spent in photography. Eight species of wild mammals were recorded by the cameras :japanese squirrel (Sciurus lis), japanese hare (Lepus brachyurus), red fox (Vulpes vulpes), raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides), masked palm civet (Paguma larvata), japanese marten (Martes melampus), japanese badger (Meles anakuma)and asiatic black bear (Ursus thibetanus).
