The vegetation was chiefly characterized by two Miscanthus species ; M. intermedius and M. sinensis. The grassland has been traditionally maintained for collecting M. intermedius, used as roof material, since Edo period. However, M. sinensis has been increasing instead of M. intermedius recently. In 2007, we recorded 70 species of vascular plants (including 5 invasive species) in the site. Specifically, Aeginetia sinensis, endanger species in Nagano Prefecture, were found in the grassland. To conserve their habitat, it will be necessary to continue the landscape management such as burning and mowing., Article, 信州大学教育学部附属志賀自然教育研究施設研究業績 45: 1-6(2008)}, pages = {1--6}, title = {長野県小谷村に残る伝統的茅場の植物相}, volume = {45}, year = {2008} }
