A 70-year-old man complaining of severe abdominal pain had defense and rebound tenderness in his lower abdomen.Parasitic disease was suspected on the basis of abdominal findings and CT. However, strangulation ileus was also suspected because of the severe abdominal pain and findings, and emergency operation was performed. Severe thickening and redness of the intestinal wall about 200 cm from the Treiz ligament and serous ascites were found, and partial resection of the small intestine was performed. Eosinophilic enteritis was diagnosed as histological study of the resected intestine revealed eosinophilic infiltration to the full thickness without parasites. Because eosinophilic gastroenteritis often induces severe abdominal pain and its clinical findings are similar to strangulation ileus and parasitic disease,for example intestinal anisakiasis and type X larva of the suborder spirurina, it could be difficult to diagnose eosinophilic gastritis properly., Article, 信州医学雑誌 53(2): 77-80(2005)}, pages = {77--80}, title = {腸閉塞にて発症した好酸球性腸炎の1例}, volume = {53}, year = {2005} }
