Following the multiple terrorist events that occurred in the United States on September 11, 2001, it has become a major issue to cope with human disasters caused by nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) terrorism, which harm the health and lives of a large population. Medical staffmust respond to NBC disasters and terrorism, in addition to great earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other natural disasters. A disaster drill with mass casualties, simulating the great Gofukuji earthquake, was held on December 18, 2001 at Shinshu University Hospital, which is a core disaster hospital in the Matsumoto region.More than 150 persons including medical students and firefighters trained in triage, treatment and transportation for disaster patients, and also did a drill to check damage to the hospital. It was a very useful and important occasion to evaluate disaster management in our hospital. Drills will help to build a bridge of information and human relation not only within the hospital but also in other related areas.We must develop yet a more efficient and effective disaster management plan, and contribute significantly to disaster medicine., Article, 信州医学雑誌 50(5):241-248(2002)}, pages = {241--248}, title = {国立大学病院における総合防災訓練と災害拠点病院としての役割}, volume = {50}, year = {2002} }
