We investigated the tumor volume doubling time (Td) based on serial MRIs and the tumor proliferative potential by the MIB-1 staining index in 17 residual meningiomas. During a follow-up period ranging from 2 to 120 months, there were seven rapid-growing meningiomas with a Td of 14.3±9.6 months, six slow-growing tumors with a Td of 81.3±14.3 months, and four shrinking tumors. The majority of the growing tumors increased in size constantly in an exponential fashion,except for 2 small slow-growing tumors which showed a fluctuating growth pattern.There was a significant correlation between the MIB-1 index and Td with a correlation coefficient of -0.54.We conclude that repeated observations of residual meningiomas with MRI and MIB-1 staining index are important for the prediction of future tumor growth., Article, 信州医学雑誌 49(5): 257-262(2001)}, pages = {257--262}, title = {残存髄膜腫の増大様式と腫瘍容積倍加時間の解析}, volume = {49}, year = {2001} }
