We describe our experience with esophageal cancer resected by thoracoscopic and hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery (HALS). A 65-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of pain on swallowing.Endoscopic examination showed a superficial depressed lesion (0-IIc)in the middle thoracic esophagus.The specimen taken from this lesion revealed squamous cell carcinoma. Thoracoscopic esophagectomy with regional lymph-node dissection and hand-assisted laparoscopic mobilization of the stomach for esophageal replacement were successfully performed. The postoperative course was uneventful., Article, 信州医学雑誌 49(5): 263-268(2001)}, pages = {263--268}, title = {Thoracoscopic SurgeryおよびHand-Assisted Laparoscopic Surgery(HALS)により切除,再建し得た胸部食道癌の1例}, volume = {49}, year = {2001} }
