 note = {Oral and maxillofacial rehabilitation using a dental implant system was undertaken in six patients with oral and maxillofacial tumor or injury. Sixteen implants were inserted in total, and 15 implants became functional. All three oral carcinoma patients were edentulous and wore an overdenture supported by the implants.The other three patients had traumatic tooth-loss in an anterior region of the maxilla;they received a fixed implant-supported prosthesis after onlay bone-graft. All prostheses functioned well and all patients were satisfied with the treatment with implants. This treatment showed a significant benefit compared to conventional treatment with removable prostheses or partial bridges in the restoration of oral dysfunction and/or disfigurement due to oral and maxillofacial tumor surgery and injury., Article, 信州医学雑誌 49(3): 141-146(2001)},
