Barium enema and colonoscopy showed diffuse small polyps in colon and rectum,and two large polyps in the sigmoid colon.She was diagnosed as having familial adenomatous polyposis. Total colectomy was conducted laparoscopically through five trocars,and an ileal J-pouch and rectal anastomosis were performed.The operating time was 5 hours and 38 minutes and intraoperative blood loss was slight.
