The subjects were eighteen old persons ranged in age from sixty-eight to ninety. They responded to a semi-structured interview. All responded were coded and categorized. The results were as follows : 1. The helping behavior were classified into seven categories ; care, promotion of self-care, teaching, control, safeguard, sympathy, respect. 2. The reason and motivation for helping behavior were classified into four categories : belief, approbation, affection, role. These actions are the result of high-level-needs in Maslow's theory.
