The former was measured by an automated blood cell differential analyzer, the latter by two kinds of automated cell counters based on electronic impedance method and optical method using focused laser beam. The red cell parameters seemed to be mutually related each other in detected total samples. Compared with group with normal MCV, however, the group with MCV of below 80 tend not to have the relationship between red blood cell dimension distribution or morphological changes on smear for peripheral blood and red blood cell distribution width or cell volume from both automated cell counters.
