The subjects studied were 123 psychiatric patients placed in Occupational Therapy in S University Hospital. The duration of the study was five years, from 1986 to 1990. Data was collected in the following areas : general information, medical information, psychiatric history, and factors related to the occupational Therapy itself. We statistically analyzed these data and its relationship to the outcomes. Atten dance rate, regularity and motivation relating to attendance, cooperation with the family, and cooperation with the family doctor proved to be related to the outcomes. It became clear that: 1) A patient whose attendance rate is low and who keeps an irregular schedule is likely to temporarily or permanently discontinue his or her Occupational Therapy. 2) To prevent the discontinuation of Occupational Therapy, cooperation with the family and the attending psychiatrist is necessary soon after the Occupational Therapy has begun., Article, 紀要 17: 59-73(1992)}, pages = {59--73}, title = {作業療法の転帰に関する研究: 継続と中断を決定する要因について}, volume = {17}, year = {1992} }
