 note = {A female schizophrenic patient, age of 25 with a wheel chair, has become to adjust to her family life after 3.5 years period of rehabilitation programs. The process of psychological adjustment to her disabilities was quite similar to that of any normal injured person, in terms of stages to go through and required length of time for adjustment. It was found that the physical and socio-cultural therapeutic structure of occupational therapy had provided the patient with assimilated “micro-society” to be adjusted after her injury. It was speculated that many constructive activities and their end products utilized in occupational therapy had a significant effect for her ego development. A continuous psychiatric care was necessary from the beginning of rehabilitaion endeavour to support her normal adjustment process to her disabilities. Special considerations and cautions were suggested for rehabilitation workers to understand and/or help some unique reactions which any schizophrenic patient might have in the course of adjustment to physical disabilities., Article, 紀要 14(2): 123-137(1989)},
