Two groups of 16 subjects received 24 presentations of a 10 sec visual ( > or <) stimulus (Sl) followed immediately by a 1 sec　visual (  e  ) stimulus CS2) at 50 or 0/ 100 percent of trials. A tone probe of 1,000　Hz (67 dB (SPL)), 500 ms duration was presented 300 ms following some of the S1 onsets　and during some of the interstimulus intervals. All subjects were required to sit quietly and to see freely the visual stimulus appeared on a CRT display. The results indicated　that first- appeared fixation duration did not differ by the information value, but showed　an overall decrease across the trial-blocks and group by trial-blocks interaction. The　electrodermal responses indicated habituation, but showed no differences between the groups. The reaction times to the probe presented 300 ms following S1 demonstrated a linear decrease through trial-blocks, while the reaction times to the probe presented during interstimulus intervals changed less across the blocks. These reaction times did not differentiate to the information value.
